Batu Niah Township is the final stop to Niah Caves, with a population of under 1,900. Located just next to the Niah National Park, the town's background is dominated by the huge limestone ridges known as Gunung Subis where the Niah Caves are located and is a magnificent sight to behold.

If you are planning to visit Niah National Park and the Niah Caves, your final stop will be in Batu Niah before going on foot into the Caves. If not, it is a recommended site to visit if you can make the time. Travel by car is about one and a half hours.
