Miri Bypass Bridge is a bridge linking Permy directly to the Miri Bypass Road to Eastwood Industrial Area, Eastwood Golf Club, Miri Airport, or Taman Tunku and the inner northern part of Miri. The bridge was completed November 2014 and cut approximately 10 minutes of travel time from Permy area to Airport area simply by bypassing the rest of Miri via this route over the Miri River.
In 2019, a second bridge structure alonside the first one was constructed to facilitate a dual-lane upgrade along the Pan-Borneo highway. This construction was beset with problems as after construction the second bridge collapsed due to a construction defect with the girder beams, injuring two construciton workers performing welding. The bridge was eventually rebuilt, reinforced and became fully operational by 2022.
The Miri Bypass Bridge is a significant component in the city's transportation infrastructure, providing an alternative route and easing traffic congestion, and increasing efficiency and mobility in the region. The bridge also plays a role in the providing easy access to industrial areas, airport, and is the major link for the Pan-Borneo Highway link across the inner Miri River.
Sri Gadong was a small steel cargo vessel about 30-meter in length, commissioned to carry sawn timber when it was sunk off the coast of Miri. The wreck is a popular dive site in Miri.
Gawai Dayak is an annual harvest festival that is celebrated by Sarawakians, Borneo on 31 May and 1 June. It is a public holiday in Sarawak and is a social occasion recognized since 1957.
Pujut 7 Bridge is the bridge linking Permyjaya and Desa Pujut areas to Pujut, forming a main link to the Sarawak-Brunei border and serves seven housing estates, two commercial centres and an industrial estate, crossing the Miri River.
