The Miri District Police Headquarters is located just off Miri-Pujut Road, just off before Pelita Commercial Area. The land the headquarters sit on covers a large area, and includes living & accommodation for police personnel, and Commercial crimes investigation unit.

With forty three rooms and situated at the center of Miri, with major shopping malls like Permaisuri Mall, Imperial Mall and Bintang Mall all within a walking distance of 5 to 7 minutes, plus major food outlets and entertainment centers, and handicraft center for souvenirs. 
The Miri Airport VOR Station can be seen along Miri-Bintulu Road near the end of the Miri Airport Runway.
In the 1920s, these were the years when the Miri field began to decline. Exploration was carried out further and further afield. In 1926 an exploratory team had gone as far as Padang Barawa between the Sungai Seria and Sungai Barawa. Not much attention was paid to their findings then, but now with the Miri field declining the old maps and charts were taken out and studied again.
Long before Lutong bridge was constructed, the area had a ferry service, possibly at or near the site of what is now the Lutong bridge today. These pictures were taken on 4th July, 1945 during the ending stages of the Japanese occupation, by the Australian 2/13 infantry battalion aiming to reoccupy Sarawak from Japanese.
