Pustaka Miri is a two-storey building at the Miri City Fan. Located along the central axis to Dewan Suarah Miri (Miri Civic Centre), the library designed as the information technology of Miri Resort City.
The ground floor houses Multimedia Gallery with a special corner dedicated for Children, which aside from books, it also provides use of tablets & computers for use for free (subject to schedules).
The first floor houses an auditorium, special collection area, and Information Resource Centre which overlooks the Miri City Fan's amphitheatre and Garden of Vision. The basement floor houses the surau and a multipurpose room, which has a direct linkage to the amphitheatre.

Canada Hill is a stretch of hill that runs along Miri from North East to South West, and goes from Tanjong Lobang cliffs to Luak to Pujut Corner. Miri's first oil well - Grand Old Lady - now an official landmark and historical site - was built on top of it.

The successful discovery of offshore oil in the 1970s triggered a fresh development boom in Miri; luxury hotels were built, more houses constructed and new shopping centers and industrial estates established. Miri ranked as the second most important commercial town in Sarawak after Sibu town.
