'Hawaii Beach' is a stretch of beach known for its beautiful location and blue calm seas, very popular with Mirians that is located at Kampung Bakam. The beach is about a 25 minute drive from Miri city center. The entrance is at Bakam village, and the entrance is through a wooden footbridge leads to the palm-fringed beach. Picnic and barbecue facilities can be provided for a small charge.

Luak Bay Food Court is a food court that opened in 2015 alongside Luak Bay Road just off the Miri-Airport Road 'Seahorse' roundabout. The food court is located in between two shop houses and features muslim & other local foods and drinks. 
The story begins with a Mr. C.C. (Claude Champion) de Crespigny, then the Resident of Baram, who was the first to record the presence of oil in Sarawak. The entry in his diary, dated 31st July 1882, refers to oil discovered in some 18 wells dug by hand by the local inhabitants.
Nasi Lemak is fried chicken, hard boiled egg or fried egg, salted fish, salted peanuts, and coconut rice mixed together; but the 'secret sauce' in all of this and the one pulling factor to become 'nasi lemak' is the sambal. 
The Old Miri Airport was planned and built in the 1970s, where a demand for a more modern and longer runway was needed to accommodate Fokker 50s and the Boeing 737s for a booming commercial aviation as commercial flying became a more affordable way to travel.
