Pelita pedestrian bridge at the Miri-Pujut Road in front of Pelita Commercial Area is a pedestrian bridge spanning forty six meters from end to end and allows people to walk across to Pelita Commercial Center over the very busy highway without the dangers of getting hit. This bridge links the residential areas at the foothills of Canada Hill Kampung Lereng Bukit to Pelita Commercial Area.
Its design features non-slip tiles on the staircase and a solar powered lighting system.
This bridge was completed in 2015. Although it has been pointed out in various sources that the bridge with 46-metre span is the longest, it is only longest of the three projects (Boulevard, Pelita & Morsjaya). The longest bridge is still the first bridge in Kingsway which connects to the MCC multi-story car park building.

The other momentous event in 1957 was the decision made by the oil company to relinquish some 75% of the land concession in the hinterland of Sarawak after explorationary surveys had shown no indications of oil. 
Established in 1999, Curtin University of Technology is the first international branch campus of Western Austrialia's Curtin University of Technology at the invitation of the Sarawak State Government to fulfill the need for a tertiary institution of international caliber to match Miri's growth.
Sarawak had never been particularly rich in railways but it was little known that there was an actual railway laid down in an area called Ensalai, near inland of the Baram River, in 1960.
