Locally known as the Miri Open Air Market, or Miri Central Market is located at the heart of the old town center. This is a market place with sections that offer a variety of fruits, vegetables, tofu and pork for shoppers. It is one of the first markets in Miri and are patronized by at least three generations or even four generations of Mirians on a regular basis.
The market building have been renovated at least 3 times in the past, a reinforcement and redesign of the roof in the 1980s, with the most recent one sometime in 2007 given a complete reflooring, repaint and repair of drainage and lighting.
In recent years critics complain that the market has gotten too dirty and the unsanitary conditions are turning off would-be goers in recent years. Rats were constantly a problem and cooking waste, such as waste oil are dumped into the drainage causes smells and blockages.
This market may soon be relocated in the near future.

Luak Bay Food Court is a food court that opened in 2015 alongside Luak Bay Road just off the Miri-Airport Road 'Seahorse' roundabout. The food court is located in between two shop houses and features muslim & other local foods and drinks.
