Desa Seri is a residential area located next to Boulevard Commercial Center and Taman Bulatan Park, developed during the late 1980s - early 1990s.
The residential area had a unique sign - a wooden 'wheel' marking the entrance of Desa Seri. The area consisted of mostly detached bungalows and semi-detached double story houses. Its close proximity with Boulevard Commercial Center (literally just across the road) makes it a very prime and highly valued housing estate.

Tanjung Lobang Lighthouse station was established in the 1930s in an area around Tanjong Lobang with beautiful & spectacular sea cliffs, and rich in history. Next to it is a Second World War Memorial, commemorating the oil field workers killed during the war.
'Hawaii Beach' is a stretch of beach known for its beautiful location and blue calm seas, very popular with Mirians that is located at Kampung Bakam, a 25 minute drive from Miri city center.
Umai is traditionally a standard lunch meal for the Melanau fishermen. A delicacy also known as Sarawak's "Sashimi".
