Limbang is a town in between the borders of Brunei. To get to Limbang by road, one has to go through Brunei immigration. The Limbang Regional Museum is located here in a fort built by Rajah Charles Brooke in 1897.

The catching of bubuk is an annual cycle in Miri. During this phenomenon these shrimps arrive in the millions in the shallow waters of the sea off the beaches of Miri, and the fisherfolks using their fishing tool, known as the 'paka', scoop them up from the waters by wading into the sea. 
The Old Miri Airport was planned and built in the 1970s, where a demand for a more modern and longer runway was needed to accommodate Fokker 50s and the Boeing 737s for a booming commercial aviation as commercial flying became a more affordable way to travel. 
Resident Office & District building is a colonial-era building located alongside Kingsway that served as top government administrative office in Miri since the 1950s
On Saturday, 6th September 1997, flight BI238, a Dornier 228-212 operating for Royal Brunei Airlines leased from Merpati Intan which plied the Labuan - Bandar Seri Begawan - Miri route on a regular basis, crashed in Lambir Hills.
