Welcome to the Miri City web site, by Mirians, for Mirians, tourists & travelers. Located in Northern Sarawak, majestic Borneo, it is the gateway to exotic cave systems and natural rain forest reserves and is also adjacent to the neighboring country of Brunei.

Long before Lutong bridge was constructed, the area had a ferry service, possibly at or near the site of what is now the Lutong bridge today. These pictures were taken on 4th July, 1945 during the ending stages of the Japanese occupation, by the Australian 2/13 infantry battalion aiming to reoccupy Sarawak from Japanese.

Miri has long been known for its exotic national parks and caves, its under water world is now gaining attention of scuba divers ever since the untouched coral reefs were discovered in recent years.

Gawai Dayak is an annual harvest festival that is celebrated by Sarawakians, Borneo on 31 May and 1 June. It is a public holiday in Sarawak and is a social occasion recognized since 1957.
