"Kolok Mee" or 'kolo mee' is a bowl of dried light yellow egg noodle served with barbequed 'char siew' (pork) or chicken. A very common dish in Sarawak and Miri, it can be taken as breakfast, lunch or dinner and even supper. Sarawak "Kolok Mee" is a perennial favorite among Singaporeans and even locals returning who have moved to work in other countries, it is among the first food that comes to mind for those who haven't been back to Sarawak for a while.
"Kolok mee" can be found at most eatery stalls and coffeeshops, and there are halal version in muslim stalls. Ask around for the most recommended place in your area.

Highstreet Chinese New Year Market (also known as Gong Xi Bazaar) is an annual event that takes place about a week before the celebration of the Chinese New Year eve. Highstreet Roads are closed off during this week to set up stalls during day, with a section of Kingsway closed at night for the event.
Built in 1925, near Tanjung Lobang, this historic hilltop mansion used to be the Residency of Miri. It is now a VVIP Rest House. Dignitaries that have used this Rest House in the past ranged from White Rajahs, British Governors, Yang Dipertuan Agong, and many more.
