The Taman Tunku Miri Branch Library is a community public library located within Taman Tunku. Painted bright green, the building houses books and reference materials for the residents of Taman Tunku. It is located next to the Taman Tunku Community Center.

Located in middle of Beautiful Jade Center, Persiaran Kabor, also known as Old Folks' Street (Lao Ren Jie 老人街) is a roofed area in between shoplots where coffeeshops lay out tables and chairs along where folks congregate there for breakfast or tea, drinks, chatting with one another, and passing their time.
On this Saturday of 25th July 2009, cellphones in Miri lit up with a flood of messages circulating of rumors that a light plane had ditched into the sea off the coast of Miri around noon.

The City 'Tram' was introduced in March 2008 in Miri as a free, non-profit service that the Sarawak Tourism Board implemented for tourists and hotel guests to enjoy free public transportation services.
