Miri Bypass Bridge
Primary tabs

Miri Bypass Bridge is a bridge linking Permy directly to the Miri Bypass Road to Eastwood Industrial Area, Eastwood Golf Club, Miri Airport, or Taman Tunku and the inner northern part of Miri. The bridge was completed November 2014 and cut approximately 10 minutes of travel time from Permy area to Airport area simply by bypassing the rest of Miri via this route over the Miri River.
In 2019, a second bridge structure alonside the first one was constructed to facilitate a dual-lane upgrade along the Pan-Borneo highway. This construction was beset with problems as after construction the second bridge collapsed due to a construction defect with the girder beams, injuring two construciton workers performing welding. The bridge was eventually rebuilt, reinforced and became fully operational by 2022.
The Miri Bypass Bridge is a significant component in the city's transportation infrastructure, providing an alternative route and easing traffic congestion, and increasing efficiency and mobility in the region. The bridge also plays a role in the providing easy access to industrial areas, airport, and is the major link for the Pan-Borneo Highway link across the inner Miri River.
The OpenStreetMap is a constant work in progress, a map that is built by a community of mappers that contribute and maintain data from all over the world.
Miri's very first oil well, affectionately known as the 'Grand Old Lady' is a historic monument and a place of interest on top of Canada Hill. This is the original structure with some modifications, not a replica.
Painted with nothing more than spray paints and artistic skill, the Miri Balloon mural is an urban wall mural art painted on a blank wall in front of the High Street roundabout near the entrance to Time Square.
