The Lutong Bridge is a significant structure in the nearby township of Lutong. It spans across the Miri River and connects the neighborhoods of Pujut 8, Lutong town and New Lutong (Lutong Baru). The bridge was initially built as a dual-way single-lane bridge but as traffic increased, it was upgraded in the early 2000s to a double-lane bridge, allowing for greater capacity and smoother traffic flow.
Additionally, there is a road that runs underneath the bridge, linking Lutong Baru to other parts of the city, making the Lutong Bridge the first overpass in Miri.
Lutong Bridge is an important infrastructure for Miri-Lutong traffic, providing a crucial link for the residents and visitors of the area.

The old Miri General Hospital, which was located on the peninsular at the Miri river mouth had long been operated by oil company Shell, with financial assistant from the government.
