Desa Seri is a residential area located next to Boulevard Commercial Center and Taman Bulatan Park, developed during the late 1980s - early 1990s.
The residential area had a unique sign - a wooden 'wheel' marking the entrance of Desa Seri. The area consisted of mostly detached bungalows and semi-detached double story houses. Its close proximity with Boulevard Commercial Center (literally just across the road) makes it a very prime and highly valued housing estate.

The old Miri General Hospital, which was located on the peninsular at the Miri river mouth had long been operated by oil company Shell, with financial assistant from the government.
